High school solar PV systems

CEH
Client:

Renfrewshire Council have committed to making Renfrewshire a greener place and have set a target of reducing their CO2 emissions by 25% for 2014. To help contribute towards this, the Council appointed Campbell & Kennedy (C&K) to install Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems to four high schools; including Gryffe, Castlehead, Johnstone and Trinity High School.

Strategy:

A proficient and flexible organisation. The Project Manager was always available to discuss the project and even assisted me in presenting to one of the High Schools on the subject of Solar PV. I would happily recommend C&K to any organisation, or contact them to supply and install Solar PV to more properties in Renfrewshire Council.
Paul Herron, Energy Manager
Renfrewshire Council

C&K managed the entire project, overseeing its successful delivery from start to finish. The C&K technical team performed a full site survey at the schools and designed each PV system to specification, ensure that they met the Council’s requirements and provide a maximum return on investment.

Following the full design process, C&K began installation of the 10kw systems with teams of highly qualified and professional engineers.  Each team was also supported by a dedicated project manager to ensure each school was of equal priority and that the installations were of a high quality and carried out in a smooth and efficient manner.

The team worked around the school’s busy schedule to ensure that there were no disruptions to day-to-day operations and that all sites remained a friendly and safe environment.

With the systems signed off to the Council’ standards, C&K fully commissioned the system. C&K are MCS accredited – the only certification scheme approved by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Results:

The project was a huge success, with each installation completed within the expected timeframe, on spec and to the client’s approval.  This installation will contribute towards the Council’s commitment to achieving their CO2 reduction target as well as help them save money on their energy costs and generate income from the Government Feed-in Tariff (FiT) sc

C&K also participated in an Eco-Cluster event organised by Gryffe High School on the 14th of June, which aimed to spread awareness of environment issues and green energy. C&K Solar project Manager, Jason Lowey, attended the day, delivering a presentation on how solar panels work and the importance of renewable energy.
