C&K installed 15 IRS systems to new build homes
Campbell & Kennedy (C&K) was appointed by City Building to deliver the installation of 15 Integrated Reception Systems (IRS) to new build homes at a site in the South Side of Glasgow.
Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), part of Wheatley Group, is building the homes – a mix of mid-market rent and shared equity ownership – with City Building and Lowther Homes. The £3.6 million development, due for completion in Spring 2015, will have two and four-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses which have also been specially designed with energy-saving features which will reduce residents’ energy bills dramatically.
The IRS systems will enable end-users to access any combination of Sky, Sky HD, SKY 3D, Freesat, Freeview and radio services.
C&K’s fully qualified team designed, supplied and installed each IRS system to each block. In order to maintain aesthetics, C&K’s team liaised with the builders and agreed that no dishes should be mounted above roof height.
Whilst this is more aesthetically pleasing, it can be difficult to align the dish with the internal framework. However, C&K’s team are Registered Digital Installers and Sky Homes Approved Agents, so have years of experience in this area.
C&K started the works in July 2014 and to date have successfully completed 14 of the 15 systems they have been appointed to install.
The new systems will negate the risk of dish clutter which would ruin the aesthetics of the new build development.
