Height Installs |
What is a Height Install?A job is classed as height install when the building into which the install is taking place is 3 stories or higher. This can also apply to installations where the engineer is required to go onto the roof of the building, for example to fit a satellite dish to a chimney, even if the building has less than 3 stories. Working at height makes a straight forward job more complex and dangerous, a job which is simple to complete on the ground requires more patience, safety and awareness when working at height. Due to the increased risk to our engineer’s safety they are required to be specially trained in the use and operation of safety equipment which allows them to complete their jobs whilst protecting themselves and others from injury. The extra time training and skills involved in completing a Height installation means we have to recuperate this cost, the standard height install charge starts from £55.001.![]() How will I know I need a Height Installation? Our sales team members will talk to you and advise you on what type of installation you will require before an appointment is scheduled. This way you know upfront where your new equipment will be fitted and how much it will cost you. In the unlikely event that you have booked a standard installation and the engineer assigned to your job advises that it would require a height installation he will advise you there and then of the location and cost of the equipment he recommends. Why does a Height Installation cost extra? We charge extra for Height Installations because of the extra time, care and equipment that is required to complete the job, this means that the company incurs extra cost for time and materials and these cannot be absorbed and so they are passed on to the customer. Campbell & Kennedy engineers and any engineer contracted to work for Campbell & Kennedy must meet our high standards of Safety, Quality and Experience in order to ensure the needs of our customers are met.1 Standard heights charge is £55.00 If extra time or equipment is required over and above that allotted to a standard heights job you will be charged accordingly. Where possible we try to identify any extra charges before an appointment is booked. In cases where an engineer recommends an installation type, other than that for which you have been quoted, we will always defer to the engineer’s on site recommendation. |
