Communal Integrated Reception Systems (IRS)

A Communal IRS is a digital TV installation for communal properties such as flats and commercial properties. It offers a complete choice solution, so that occupiers can not only access Digital TV services such as Freeview, Sky TV and BBC Freesat, but also FM and DAB digital radio stations.

An IRS will ensure that your building is digitally compliant, with a digital TV installation that is ready for the Digital Switchover.

Where the site is dispersed over several buildings, it is usually best for each building to have its own mini system. This streamlines the fitting process by avoiding the need to dig up gardens and roads to install underground cables, whilst still ensuring that the Digitial TV installation is set up for all of the occupants, an important requirement of the digital switchover.

When there are several houses or flats within a single building, the building is supplied with a single head end array. Systems can be installed to service occupancies from as little as four, up to several hundred within a single block or indeed a string of blocks together, for example in a row of tenement buildings.

System components are located so that they are easily accessible for future maintenance requirements, whilst we also take care to ensure they are secure from tampering or vandalism.
