West Lothian Council partner with C&K to reduce carbon footprint

Campbell & Kennedy (C&K) has been appointed by West Lothian Council to install a ground mount solar PV system at the Visitor Centre in Beecraigs Country Park, Linlithgow. The Company are also currently installing solar PV to over 80 houses for The Council with completion expected by summer 2017.

C&K was appointed to the recent contract following a competitive tender process via the SPA Framework for Energy Efficiency and Refurbishment.

The combined installations will reduce West Lothian Council’s CO2 emissions and save around £5,000 per year. The installs are part of a wider project undertaken by The Council to reduce their carbon footprint by 20% by 2021. Moreover, as the residential properties are off-grid and dependent on electric heating and electrical hot water cylinders, residents will benefit from reduced energy bills.

Mark Fazzini, Head of Energy Operations and Sales at Campbell & Kennedy said: “We are delighted to be working with West Lothian Council on both projects and have already installed 20 systems for residents who are now enjoying the savings. What’s more, new regulations dictate that EPC ratings must be higher than C or D (depending on house type) and solar PV is a great option for new builds and retrofit.”
